About The Ride
The 2017 MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is for anyone who wants to challenge themselves for a great cause. All you need is motivation, a bike and a helmet. The money you raise for The Ride will benefit Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Western Australia’s premier adult medical research institute.
Dollars at Work
Since 2012, The MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer® has raised over $23.5 million for Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and is the largest cycling fundraiser in Western Australia.
Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is on a mission to improve the health of Western Australians through cutting-edge research that translates into new ways to prevent and treat disease. Closely linked to the major teaching hospitals, the Perkins is uniquely positioned to fast track the development of new treatments and new ways to diagnose cancer and other diseases, including tests that enable doctors to select the best approach for each patient. This enhances their ability to match individual patients to the treatments most likely to work for them with the aim of making personalised treatment a reality at last.
How We Support You
Training - Most likely you’re not used to riding such a distance in one day, then waking up the next morning and doing it all over again. So we’ll help you get ready to do just that! We organise Training Rides and provide Orientation sessions where you’ll learn more about bike basics in case you’ve never changed a bike tire or want to know the difference between a road and a mountain bike. And last but not least, you can always call the Ride Guides at 1300 99 RIDE.
Fundraising - Whether this is your first time fundraising, or you’re a seasoned pro, we’ll help you reach and exceed your goals. From your own fundraising webpage to personal advice, we’ll be there for you the whole way.
