G'day to all 'Ride to Conquer Cancer' fundraising donors...
Below is the invite I sent to my mates to get them off their arses and doing the ride again in memory of someone very special to me and mine. I must say most have responded with a yes and we have a team formed now called "Moody Blues". (Shaun was a Birmingham City fan, a partner in our business and above all a mate)
Some of you who receive this have known and worked with Shaun for years in his time at Multiplex and latterly as an Owner/Director of Credentia Construction with myself and Willie Boylan.
Please dig deep to fight this disease as we never know who it will target next.
The time has come round again to do the ride.... Some of us done this a few years back in the knowledge we were helping loved ones and strangers in the struggle against this bastard disease..
This time is a bit different... This time its still to raise funds for the fight, but also to honour one of our own..Shaun Patrick Donohoe.. who passed away on Thursday 9th March 2017 at age 61 after a very long hard fought battle..
Ironically it was Shaun that prompted our first foray into the ride for cancer. We had great weather and a great weekend of bonding/riding/drinking and laughing at Dave Griffins painted toe nails... as well as raising $35k for the cause.. Well done to all.. Sadly though at that time we never knew what was in front of us with Shaun contracting the very disease we were riding for and the struggles that he and Lesley endured in the 2.5 year battle.... The world lost a great man and we all lost a great friend that day but we will remember him in our daily conversations, catch ups and stories with friends and family for years to come. Please join the team and lets raise more money to fight this as none of us know what is round the corner... Follow the link, pay your joining fee and set the target at $2500.. Lets make it a great weekend again and know that he will be riding with us... Cheers Ron
